How Long Does Soy Wax Take to Harden?

A soy-coconut pour skins over while you are still cleaning the jug. It is usually firm enough to move in a few hours, and solid overnight in a Highland workshop that is not a heatwave. That is set. That is not cured.

Set vs cure

Set means you can put a lid on without leaving a fingerprint soup. Cure means the fragrance has settled and the crystal structure of the wax has done its slow thing. We wait about two weeks before we treat a candle as finished. Curing.

If it stays wet

Room too warm, or too much oil, or the pour was very hot and the jar is insulating it. Put it somewhere cool and level. Do not fridge a warm candle — you will get a crater and a sweat. If beads of oil sit on top later, that is sweating, not a candle that refused to harden.
