Coconut Wax in Our Candles

Coconut wax does not automatically smell of sun cream. It is a carrier. Unfragranced, it is a quiet, slightly sweet fat. We scent it with places — peat, salt, hill, harbour — not with piña colada. If a coconut candle smells tropical, that is the fragrance, not the wax.

We use it because it plays well with soy, it is vegan, and it helps hot throw without us needing to shout the oil percentage. Too much coconut and the jar is too soft for a Highland van in June. Too little and you may as well pour straight soy and argue with reviews. The blend is the point. Why coconut is in there, how we choose wax.
